We Wish You a Merry Christmas...Part One

Santa came a week early!  We went to my dad's hometown of Waseca to celebrate my first Christmas with my Minnesota grandparents and my cousins.  I love a good party and a good party it was! The party goers included: 2 aunts, 2 uncles, 6 cousins, one grandma, one grandpa and one great-grandpa.  It was a wild weekend and I had the best time ever.

This was my first experience opening presents and I really think that Christmas should be every day.  Ripping apart paper and eating it is the most fun.

Oh yeahhhhh! Look at me go!

My mom didn't take a video, but our great-grandpa is leading us in We Wish You a Merry Christmas.  Gavin and Kolton took care of the low notes and I handled the high ones.

A Wise Man Once Said...

...."Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get."

Guess what I got? Croup! Who knew that my little, fun, faux cough was going to turn in to a dog-like bark that nearly gave my mother and WI grandmother a heart attack every time I had to hack. Happy Thanksgiving to Me.

The week was almost the best one of my life. The plan was to whoop it up (not croup it up) with my dad and my Wisconsin relatives. Daycare was closed for the week of Thanksgiving, which for me means no napping at home and trying as hard as possible to get out of the daily routine I follow at daycare. Party Time!

We started off the week running errands at the MOA (Mall of America for you non-MN natives). This was the first time I rode in the Bob like a normal person. Super fun!

Early the next morning, and I mean early (refer to not following a schedule, above), my mom and I hit the road for good ol' Wisconsin. I slept the ENTIRE WAY to Cedarburg, keeping one hand on my toy because I need to be touching something at all times.

I was soooo excited to see my family from Wisconsin. I wish that I could see them every single day and I was so sad to leave. We did lots of fun things which made the week fly by - walks, naps, guitar playing, photo shoots with my Great Uncle John and Aunt Julie, watched the Packers keep their winning streak alive, the list goes on!

With Grandma and my cousin Caleb.  Boys will be boys!

Discussing what we are going to eat on Thanksgiving day.

With my mama in my Thanksgiving duds. We both have our stretchy pants on, ready to stuff our faces.

My uncle Jordan's hair is way more fun to play with than my mom's!

Bundled up for our walk. I was nice and toasty warm!

Border Battle

There is some sort of rivalry in our house and apparently I have to pick a side. Packers or Vikings? Right now I'm happy cheering for whatever team colors I'm dressed in that morning. My parents keep telling me that I'm a winner and a world champion, so I'm leaning towards picking a winning, world champion team. At this point in my life, I have no say, but I can tell that not picking a side is presently keeping the peace in our house!

Do I cheer for the Packers?

Or the Vikings?

Or both?

Or World Champions of the World?

Question: What Do You Get When You Goose a Ghost?

Happy Halloween! (Can you see my neck? It makes an appearance every now and then).

So I had multiple Halloween costumes this year. We had a party at Daycare on Friday and I dressed up as a monster. (Did I "need" a monster costume to be a little monster? My mom says probably not).

Since Monday was actually Halloween, I had to wear a fun Halloween outfit. I'm starting to do all sorts of fun things, including screaming like a little girl, yodeling, laughing, shoving my hands in my mouth, and rolling over. The rolling over thing is pretty fun, especially when I get stuck on my belly in the middle of the night and scream about it. Mom and Dad to the rescue!

My third costume of the holiday was a dragon...or a dinosaur. I prefer to be called a nice, friendly dinosaur in this picture:

And a cranky, scary dragon in this one:

Sadly, I didn't get to go out trick or treating with my spider bucket from my Wisconsin Grandma. The lights were off at the neighbors who I really like, so that meant I couldn't charm them in to giving me loads of candy. Luckily a few of the neighbor kids remembered me and said "Hi Landon!" when I was helping my dad hand out candy.

What are these things on my feet?

What the heck?

No seriously, what is that?

Answer: A handful of sheet!

Head shots....

...to make up for all of the stroller shots!

All clean!

I'm trouble and I know it!

My mom is HILARIOUS!

On my way to daycare! (Yes those are my real cheeks. No they are not implants).

Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh My!

A few days before my mom went back to work, we went with my dad to the Como Park Zoo in St Paul. It was my first time seeing all of the wild animals and I was very impressed, especially with the penguins. The monkeys kind of freaked me out. I don't know if it was because they were bouncing off the walls or their weird smell, but I wasn't a fan of the Primate building.

Nice and cozy. Ready to see some animals!

Check out those horns.

Making friends with the penguins!

I realize it seems like I spend a lot of time in my stroller. I do, but I like it in there!

26.2 Miles of Pure Awesomeness

The first weekend in October is a big deal around here. First, it's my Wisconsin grandma's birthday. Second, it's the Twin Cities Marathon. Apparently it's become a tradition in my house to either run it or watch it. I was actually awake for this outing (or part of it anyway) and I was so inspired by all of the runners. I can't wait to run it with my mom some day!

Watching the runners!

No matter what I'm doing, I can't take my eyes off my mom when she's around.

Rumor has it that I "ran" the marathon with my mom last year. The jury is still out...

A Bushel and a Peck...of Apples

Today I was very sad because my grandma from Wisconsin went back home after taking care of me for the last few days. My mom went back to work and I am devestated that I'm not able to hang out with her all day long. (Don't get me started on this whole daycare business). I had a lot of fun with my grandma though and I cried when she left!

To cheer me up, my mom and dad took me to an apple orchard where we could pick our own apples. My dad didn't understand why we didn't buy a bag instead of picking them ourselves. According to my mom, it's all about the experience. As usual, I slept through the whole thing.

I have a feeling I'm going to really like these some day!

Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Babies like to joust!

Yesterday I ventured down to the Renaissance Festival with my parents and their friends. While I slept through the majority of the afternoon, when I was awake, I was fascinated by all of the odd people who were dressed up (but didn't even work there). Some stranger with a feather in his hat wanted to enter me in to a sword fight. I didn't enter - I personally think I need to work on holding my head up before I start swinging a sword around!

Me and Dad going to the castle!

Some Queen - I'm under the blue blanket in the corner of the pic.

On my way home!

New Toy

My grandma gave me a new toy for my crib. She thinks I need some things to look at while I'm in my crib and in my carseat, and I couldn't agree more. I really like to watch the fishies float by!

Hello World!

I finally decided to make my appearance on July 6th. I was a little late and made things interesting, but my parents didn't seem to mind. They were just so happy that I was a healthy little guy when I arrived. They were extremely impressed by my loud lungs and my ability to stay awake all night long!
