Slip Slidin' Away

Did you know that you can go on a water slide in January...in the middle of Minnesota?  I didn't!  We celebrated my Minnesota Grandpa's birthday at the Water Park of America and I had such a blast!  Ok, that is a little bit of a stretch.  Next year, I will think it's the Most Fun Ever but as a first-timer, I was a little scared. There was so much to look at - slides, water, surfing, more water, people, and my personal favorite, ginormous ceiling fans. It was so hard for me to focus on just one thing!  I was very excited to wear one of my 6 swimsuits.  What can I say, I'm my father's son. We have a slight obsession with board shorts.

We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Part 2

On Christmas Eve morning, we piled in the car and took a fun little road trip to Wisconsin. I made it the whole way without asking my dad to stop - he was so impressed with my car riding skills!  My Wisconsin family was SO EXCITED that we were there.  That night we hung out and opened gifts, which is one of my favorite things to do.

I had heard stories about what Chirstmas Day is like at my Grandma's, but I truly had no idea.  There were people, people, and more people everywhere, and who knew that I'm related to all of them!  We were so busy that day that we forgot to take pictures.  Here is one of me giving my Great Aunt Mary Beth a very, very special gift:

That night, we got to watch the Packers beat the Lions. I know that I have to be on Team Neutral, but I have a good feeling about the rest of the Packers season. Go Pack Go! That's all I'm going to say about it :)  The next morning, my dad drove back to Minnesota and left us in Wisconsin for the week.  I really missed him, but I was excited to spend some time in the land of Cheese. 

We went on a lot of adventures that week.  One afternoon, my mom, Caleb, Grandma, Aunt Jenna, and I hit up Cabela's for some sightseeing. I felt a little out of my element with all of the guns and camo, so I was really glad that Caleb was along to make me feel more comfortable around the hunting stuff!

The next day, we went on another adventure to the Children's Museum downtown Milwaukee.  What. A. Zoo.  There were people everywhere (almost like Christmas Day)!  They had so many things to look at and our favorite was the city bus. Caleb got to take a turn driving it while I supervised.  Despite the craziness, it was really fun and I'm excited to go back again!

Because it was so nice out this Christmas, we took a few walks in the woods. I even got to ride on my Grandpa's ranger!

My uncle Jordan drove my mom and I back on Friday and spent a few days with us.  We had so much fun! We took him to one of our favorite restaurants, the Buffalo Tap, for some pepperjack cheese curds and juicy lucy's.  My favorite thing about this place?  They have tv's everywhere and I LOVE to watch tv!

Happy 6 Months to Our Little Man!

It's hard to believe that 6 months ago today, I was waddling to the hospital for what we all thought would be an easy, induced delivery. Almost 12 hours later, our baby boy was born with some help from his doctor friends.  We had no idea how much this little person was going to change our life. Ryan and I are so very lucky to wake up every morning to a beautiful, healthy baby smiling back at us.

We love you Landon Alan Jaycox!
